During her PhD project Annick aims to gain insight in how various water management strategies and farming practices that attempt to minimize soil subsidence affect biodiversity in the Dutch agricultural peat meadows. She has a background in ecology and evolution (BSc Biology, RUG) and environmental change and ecosystems (MSc Sustainable Development, UU).

Before her PhD, Annick worked as a junior lecturer in the bachelor programme Global Sustainability Science, and in the master programme Sustainable Development. Currently Annick still teaches in both programmes.

MSc students are always welcome to contact me if they are interested in doing fieldwork, labwork or statistical modelling.

My mesocosm experiment in the botanical gardens of Utrecht. Here I study the effect of water level, water quality and nutrient application on the nutrient dynamics and vegetation responses.
