Ádám Tóth, who graduated as a geophysicist (MSc) and a hydrogeologist (PhD), works as a researcher at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development and education development officer under the CHARM-EU European University alliance. Ádám is also a local co-coordinator of the Global Challenges for Sustainability MSc programme offered by CHARM-EU and co-developed its Water thematic track. He has expertise in developing and implementing Challenge Based Learning (CBL) educational programmes and courses.

CHARM-EU (Challenge-driven Accessible Research-based Mobile European University) represents a mission and vision for the co-creation of a European university aligned with European Values. Partner universities in this endeavour are: the University of Barcelona (Spain), Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), ELTE Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, Hungary), University of Montpellier (France) and newly joined Åbo Akademi University (Turku, Finland), University of Würzburg (Germany), Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and University of Bergen (Norway). CHARM-EU is funded by the European Commission through Erasmus+ to design, develop and pilot a challenge-based curriculum and innovative European University model.

Ádám is the co-lead of WP 3 Educational Practice of the CHARM-EIGHT project. He is involved in updating the existing master's programme of Global Challenges for Sustainability, exploring educational opportunities for a broader audience to develop knowledge, including a strategy for micro-credentials, badges and continuous education and a team-based transdisciplinary joint CHARM-EU Doctoral programme.

Ádám worked as an education innovator for a year at the Innovative Didactic Concepts team of the EWUU alliance (Alliance TU/e, WUR, UU, UMC Utrecht).
