Anoeska Buijze (1980) is Professor of national and European Administrative Law at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. She holds an LLM in legal research (2008, Utrecht University) and a PhD in European Administrative Law (2013, Utrecht University), both of which were awarded cum laude.

 

Research Focus

In her research, Buijze focuses on the interplay between law and various fields of science. In her dissertation she developed a framework for understanding the multitude of transparency obligation in EU law, which shows how economic, political, governance and ethical theories shape the development of the principle of transparency in various fields. She subsequently participated as a postdoc in the CONTEXT project, where she focused on the interplay of legal rules and governance processes when trying to realize sustainable area development. Her current research at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Oceans and Sustainability Law focuses on energy law and policy.
