Aditi Dixit is a PhD candidate in social and economic history at Utrecht University. Her research is on the political-economic determinants of the 'divergence' between Indian and Japanese textile industry between the late 19th and early 20th century. Aditi has an MA and MPhil in development studies from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and has worked with various research organisations on socio-economic changes in underdeveloped economies such as women's work, labour markets, public expenditures and state welfare policy.
