If you do not meet the entry requirements you might be considered for a Pre-Master's programme tailored to the Master’s programme. The Pre-Master's programme comprises no more than 60 EC.

A Pre-Master's Programme is only available for students with a Dutch educational background who do not need housing, and who do not have or require a residence permit for study purposes. When in doubt about your residence permit, you can send an email to Utrecht University's Admissions Office, including a copy of both sides of the permit. Do not forget to state clearly that you are referring to a Pre-Master’s programme.

Within the Pre-Master’s programme, you will follow a six courses (two per block) from a selection of our new media-related BA tracks. You will also follow two courses dedicated to preparing for and writing a BA thesis on a new media and digital culture related topic. The specific course selection is based on personal interest and recommendations from the admissions committee. The tracks are:
