Once you have been (conditionally) admitted to a Master's programme at Utrecht University, there are a number of matters to be seen to, such as:

Choice of study location

After receiving your letter of acceptance you will be asked to choose your main study location: Utrecht University or The University of Twente. Regardless of the location you choose, you will still have lecturers together with your fellow students of both locations at least once a week.

Practical matters

International students will receive information from the Admissions Office on how to arrange the necessary practical matters (e.g., housing, a Dutch bank account, health care insurance, visa etc.).

Payment of your tuition fees

More information about tuition fees :

After being admitted you will receive a registration package in which the ways of paying your tuition fees will be explained.

All students at Utrecht University receive a digital student card. The student card is visible in the MyUU app as soon as you've successfully enrolled and paid your tuition fees. You can download the app in the Apple App Store or the Android Google Play Store.

Welcome and Orientation Programme

All international students will receive an invitation for the University's Orientation Day. Part of the programme for this day consists of support and advice regarding practical matters, such as your registration with the city.

Dutch language game

Although you can speak English with practically anyone in the Netherlands, learning the local language helps you to get to know the country and its culture and society. Download the Hoi Holland! app and see how much fun it can be to learn Dutch! This serious game is your first step towards mastering the Dutch language.

Hoi Holland! is an initiative of EP-Nuffic and is made possible by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
