Study programme

Environmental Biology is a two-year Master’s programme (120 EC). EC stands for European Credits, where 1 EC equals 28 hours of work.

Curriculum

The programme offers 4 tracks, all focusing on a different field within Environmental Biology. When applying for the programme you must indicate the track of your preference. Your choice determines which courses you will take and the type of research you will be involved in. 

The curriculum consists of the following six components (with specified credits), covering both practical research training and advanced theoretical education.

Extra opportunities

Utrecht University offers several honours programmes for students looking for an extra challenge.
