International environment

Business Informatics provides a internationally focussed and stimulating atmosphere in which you will actively participate in group activities and carry out group- and individual projects. By enrolling in our programme, you will join an enthusiastic and diverse group of students who come to Utrecht University from all over the world. Our research partners range from academic to non-academic, and from within the Netherlands and abroad.

Focus on both theory and practice

At Utrecht University we think that information science is closely related to computer science, but our programme takes a user-centred approach. It combines topics such as business and management-oriented studies, communication and organisation studies, and – at the core – computing sciences. Outstanding students will get involved in ongoing applied research.

Business ICT labs

Your studies will involve participating in an ICT lab that identifies business solutions through the development of software. Various research projects involve collaborations with researchers active at other institutes, departments in private corporations, and public corporations.

Strong community

Students collaborate intensively inside and outside of the classroom. They have independently organized and adopted a Dropbox and a Facebook group in which class content, notes, example tests, etc. are shared.
