With the exception of parts of the Rock Garden, the Botanic Gardens are easy to access for people with a disability. Toilets for the disabled are available both in the Entrance Building and in the Tropical Greenhouses. For people with mobility issues who do not bring their own wheelchair, several wheelchairs are available to hire for €1. These wheelchairs are quite rudimentary, so we recommend that you bring a cushion for comfort.
In the Discovery Garden, specific adaptations have been made in order to facilitate visits by people with physical disabilities. For example, there are raised planters to enable you to feel and view the plants from close-up from your wheelchair. In addition, the paths are finished with seashell paving that contrasts with the darker raised edges, enabling people with impaired vision to follow the paths more easily.
