Coronavirus: since 1 July academic ceremonies

Since 1 july, the UU started using the University Hall again for academic ceremonies, with priority to inaugural lectures, PhD graduation ceremonies and graduation ceremonies. A limited number of people may be present. The Pandhof is not yet open to the public. 

Due to the limited capacity of the building because of the corona measures, no new reservations will be accepted until 1 June 2021. The best way to contact the staff of the Reservations Office is via e-mail. The beadle accepts reservations for inaugural lectures via 030-253 82 59 or

Located in Dom Square in the centre of Utrecht, the University Hall is more than just a monument. It is Utrecht University’s ceremonial heart and its public face.

Academic ceremonies including PhD ceremonies, inaugural lectures and the awarding of undergraduate and graduate diplomas, all take place at the University Hall. The location also provides for conferences, meetings, dinners and cultural events.
