Visit us as a guest
Everyone is welcome at Utrecht University Library. Whether you work or study at UU, or visit us as a guest. On campus, you have access to our scientific literature, materials, and resources. Guests usually need a free guest account (guest Solis-ID) to do so. You can also use our reference spaces to consult materials.
What can you do with a guest account?
- connect to the Utrecht University Wi-Fi network on campus;
- view online literature on campus (via Wi-Fi);
- use search engines on campus (via Wi-Fi);
- use the printers and copiers on campus (possible from one day after activating your guest account);
- request or reserve literature in WorldCat (request this at the service desk);
- request special material for consultation in the Special Collections Reading Room (request this at the service desk);
- request a library card to borrow literature.
Please note:
- Please inform the desk which facilities you would like to use as a guest.
- Always bring your own laptop, tablet, or phone to use our services.
- Outside of the campus a guest account does not provide access to online literature and search engines for which the library has a license.
Reference spaces
Each library location has reference spaces where guests can consult the (digital) collection. Ask our staff at the service desk how it works and where you can sit. You can also use a reference space during the study period prior to the exam period.
Consulting the digital collection as a guest
Bring your own laptop and connect to Utrecht University's Wi-Fi network to consult the digital collection. You will need a guest account.
Consulting books or magazines as a guest
Would you like to take books or magazines from the shelves to read in a reference space? Then you do not need a guest account.
