Study spaces
In our buildings you can find study spaces. There are openly available spaces that you can use, but also bookable study spaces that you need to reserve.
Openly available study spaces
You can recognise the openly available study spaces by the green stickers on the tables with the text “Study space, openly available”. These are available to all visitors to the University Library.
Where can you find the free study spaces?
In the University Library City Centre, the free study spaces are located in zones B, C, D and E. In the University Library Utrecht Science Park, they can be found on the ground floor, the mezzanine, the first floor and the second floor.
Bookable study spaces
The bookable study spaces that can only be used with a reservation can be recognised by the red stickers on the tables with the text “Study space, reservations only”.
Where can you find the study spaces that require a reservation?
You can see where these spaces are located on Bookings, the website where you can reserve them.
Book a study space
Students and staff at Utrecht University can book study spaces up to two days in advance via bookings.uu.nl. When you arrive at your study space, check in using the QR code on the red sticker.
Haven't checked in after half an hour?
Your space will be released and someone else will be able to book it.
Leaving earlier than planned?
Check out using the QR code on the sticker so that the space becomes available again for others.
Study spaces during exam periods
During exam periods, all study spaces, including openly available spaces, are only available to UU students and staff. You must book these spaces and check in at this location using the small QR code in the bottom right-hand corner.
