The tapestry ‘Being a University’ will be exhibited in the University Library City Centre and is freely accessible.
This tapestry by artist Mart Veldhuis is based on three dialogues between students and staff about how they see the university. These dialogues and the artwork are part of the Comenius education innovationproject 'Open Mind', that aims to stimulate dialogue with art and creative methods.
Come and explore the artwork together and discover multiple perspectives on the university – those in the artwork, those of your companions and your own. What role does a university play in society? How do you view this as a student, staff member, or city resident?
The exhibition De verborgen impact van bestrijdingsmiddelen brings to light what often remains unseen: the effects of pesticides on our health, nature and the water around us. The exhibition centres on the work of photographer and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen. He has created poignant portraits of people who have been exposed to pesticides over many years and are now living with Parkinson’s disease. Their personal stories shed light on aspects that are often overlooked in the public debate on agriculture and food. The exhibition is open to the public at the University Library Utrecht Science Park.

Sustainability Dialogue
On Monday afternoon, 28 September, Pathways to Sustainability is organising a Sustainability Dialogue to explore the subject in greater depth. Researchers from various disciplines will discuss the consequences of pesticide use at local, regional and global levels – and what this means for future sustainability.
