Lean Library

Lean Library lets you access the university library's digital collection from anywhere. Even if you're not connected to the UU-network. Lean Library is an extension that you add to your browser.  

How does Lean Library work?

Lean Library helps you get access to publications and other academic material in different ways:

• Do you want access to paid online material, licensed by the University Library? Then Lean Library makes sure you get access.
• Is an open access version available? Then Lean Library provides a link to it. The link gives you access.
• Do you use Pubmed or Google Scholar? Then Lean Library ensures that the UBUlink is displayed.
• Lean Library provides a quick route from any website to the paper and digital collection of the University Library via Worldcat. To do this, select the title of a book or a DOI on the website. Right-click and choose ‘Search Worldcat’. This searches in Woldcat with the selected content.   

Prefer no pop-ups?

You can also turn off the Lean Library pop-ups. Click the app icon, go to settings, then advanced settings to indicate your preference. Even without pop-ups, Lean Library continues to work.

No Lean Library?

If you cannot or do not want to use Lean Library, log in to the overview of search engines with your Solis ID. This will also give you access to paid materials from Utrecht University Library via the search systems.
