Requesting and reserving

Would you like to view or borrow physical material from our collection? You can request the items, and a staff member will place it in the library's collection cabinet for you to pick up. Items that have been borrowed can be reserved.

You will be notified by email when your request is availabe for collection. You then have nine days to pick up the item(s).

When will my request be ready for collection?

Requesting and collecting University Library Utrecht Science Park:

before 1 p.m. 3 p.m.

Requesting and collecting University Library City Centre:

RequestedPick up from
before 9.00 a.m.12 p.m.
after 9.00 a.m.next working day 12 p.m.

Are you requesting material that is located at a different library than where you want to pick it up? Then it will take one working day longer before it is ready for collection. Delivery from depositories and other locations is not possible on weekends and public holidays.

Receive material by post

Would you rather have items sent to your home address? Then select 'Send by mail' at 'Pickup location' during the requesting process. A fee of €6.50 is charged. 

Are you Utrecht University staff and do you prefer to receive material at your work address? This is service is for free.

For guests

If you do not work or study at Utrecht University and would like to request or reserve materials, you will first need a guest account. Please inform the desk that you would like to request or reserve materials using your guest account.
