Workshops on request
When preparing for a course, creating teaching materials takes up a lot of time. Luckily, more and more educational content is shared online, such as course guidelines, knowledges clips and open textbooks.
In this interactive workshop by the University Library, we’ll explore several themes in the field of open educational resources. We'll discuss:
- What are your expectations for finding OER?
- Where and how to look for OER?
- How to evaluate the quality of OER?
Searching for OER is just like a thrift shop: sometimes you can find rare and valuable treasures, other times you might stumble upon trash. What will you find and what do you miss?
The workshop can be held in English and in Dutch. The workshop takes 1,5 – 2 hours. Participants must bring their laptop! Contact library.learning@uu.nl for more information.
Just like caterpillars which transform into butterflies, educational content requires some transformation for it to be let out into the world. What quality criteria should an open educational resource meet before it can be shared? How to permit others to reuse your material? And how to avoid copyright infringement?
In this interactive workshop by the University library, we’ll discuss:
- What requirements should an open educational resource fulfill?
- What are Creative Commons licenses?
- How to find copyright-free images?
- How to share educational content on Edusources.
