Workshops Open Educational Resources
The University Library offers four workshops for teachers on working with Open Educational Resources (OER). Both workshops are on request.
The workshops can be held in Dutch and English. The workshops last 1.5 - 2 hours. Participants bring their own laptop.
Crash course open educational resources
Does the concept of ‘open educational resources’ sound unfamiliar to you? Or maybe you have heard of it but do not know exactly what it means? Then this workshop is exactly right for you! In this one-hour interactive workhop, experts from the University Library will give you the basics of open educational resources, show some inspiring examples en will inform you of the support you can get from the library once you are ready to share your own material.
This workshop works best if the group consists of approximately ten participants. But if your group is larger or smaller, do let us know so we can find a fitting solution together. And of course, we would like to know if you have any other questions.
Open textbooks in ninety minutes
Open textbooks are high-quality textbooks for students that are shared online and are freely available to all. These educational resources are a way to move away from expensive (commercial) textbooks which students or institutions have to buy. They can also contribute to gaining more autonomy regarding the contents of a course.
In this interactive workshop we will deal with several questions: what makes a good open textbook? Where are they to be found? Pros and cons? And what should you do if you want to publish your own textbook?
In this 90-minute workshop, you explore every facet of open textbooks. Are you pressed for time? Please contact us to discuss the options.
Workshop Publishing Open Educational Resources
In this interactive workshop, you will learn to improve open learning materials before putting them online. After the training you will know:

- what Creative Commons licences are and how to use them for your own OER;
- how to find copyright-free images;
- how to share material on Edusources.
Workshop Searching Open Educational Resources

- what to expect when searching for OER;
- where and how to search;
- how to assess the quality of the materials you find.
