FAQ for data managers
Yes. This can be relatively common for educational purposes where many thesis students have to be added to Yoda. A template is available upon request to fill in the research groups to be made, which people need access to the groups, and with which rights. Contact yoda@uu.nl to receive the template and instructions on how to fill it in.
Yes. The UU has a policy framework research data. Additionally, your faculty may have supplemented the general framework with regulations for the faculty. For additional information, please contact info.rdm@uu.nl.
As long as you can verify the identity of the person behind the email address and you or a researcher / Yoda user can vouch for this person with this email address, then it is safe. The person added to Yoda will only have access to the data for which it is a member of a Yoda research group.
A research group in Yoda should not be confused with a research group as found in the academic world (such as in a university / department / chair group). A research group in Yoda identifies a parent folder that is assigned to an individual person or multiple people that want to store and manage research data in Yoda. You can request a research group (i.e. a parent folder) in Yoda to be used for your project or research. There is no limit to the number of research groups (i.e. parent folders) you can request.
There are no DOI available for data that has not been published in Yoda. Future releases of Yoda will contain EPIC handles as identifiers for data packages in the Yoda Vault. No persistent identifiers are available for data in the Yoda Research area.
If you are not an employee of the UU but are working in a project with the UU, you can request UU Yoda access through the UU employees. If these conditions do not apply to you, then perhaps your institute is able to setup their own Yoda system. Yoda is fully open access and can be implemented freely. Information on Yoda installation and system files can be found at Github. If you are interested in installing Yoda and require help or information, please contact yoda@uu.nl.
