Workshops Career Services for postdocs and temporary lecturers

Postdocs and temporary lecturers can make use of the general offer in the Development Guide and, in some cases, of the Graduate schools. From August 2021, Utrecht University is running a pilot in which part of the 'PhD only' workshops of the UU Career Services will be open to temporary lecturers and postdocs from Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht. This pilot is a first step towards offering you more targeted support in your professional development and career orientation.

Down below you find overview of all available workshops. Find out more about each workshop by clicking the title. At the end of each description, you find the available data and a link to subscribe. The workshops are free of charge.

Our no-show policy

We are happy to offer workshops for free to all Utrecht University PhD’s, postdocs and temporary lecturers. However: free of charge does not mean free of responsibility. Our activities tend to be fully booked well in advance. For every late cancellation or no-show we have had to disappoint others who would have liked to attend. This is how we work:

  • Once you have signed up for a workshop, we expect you to attend;
  • If you need to cancel your registration, do so at the earliest possible moment, at least 24 hours before the workshop;
  • Not showing up without notice will mean you cannot participate in any Career Services activity for 8 weeks. Two no-shows mean you cannot participate for the remainder of the academic year;
  • When partner organizations or companies are involved, they will be informed of you not showing up without notice.

If you have any questions, please ask Rutger Jan Scholtens.
