Programme

The focus of the program will lie on keynote lectures regarding the history of women in physics and a view on different career paths together with ample time for discussion to reflect on questions and challenges experienced by women and other minorities in the physics community. Moreover, there will be a few talks on specific physics topics in combination with highlights on career paths. The event will provide the perfect opportunity to meet new directions, colleagues, discuss perspectives and build a network of women physicists based in the Netherlands.

Programme outline (10 am – 5 pm): 

  • Keynote talk by Petra Rudolf on the history of women in physics
  • Keynote talk by Christa Hooijer on possible career paths
  • Panel discussion around different career paths, opportunities and problems that female physicists may encounter 
  • Lunch in groups with the opportunity to exchange experience with researchers at different stages of their careers 
  • Short talks by early career researchers 
  • Networking drinks
