Student Projects

The WEN group supervises projects within the Biology Bachelor’s Afstudeerproject course, as well as both research projects and writing assignments for the Environmental Biology Master’s programme. Information on the respective components can be found below.

BSc thesis and internship

We offer a wide range of integrated bachelor thesis and internship opportunities throughout the year. Thesis topics are closely linked to the associated internships and can be tailored to align with the interests and expertise of both the student and supervising researcher. Internship activities may involve fieldwork, ecological modelling, data analysis, or programming, depending on the specific project. If you are interested in pursuing a combined thesis and internship within our group, please visit our BSc Afstudeerproject page.

MSc thesis, internship, and writing assignment

We offer opportunities for students to undertake major research projects within our group, as well as smaller-scale options such as general research profiles, writing assignments, or mini-projects through elective coursework. All projects are embedded within the ongoing research activities of the Wildlife Ecology & Nature Restoration group, ensuring strong integration with current scientific questions and methodologies.

In addition to internal projects, we are also open to supervising external research placements, provided they align with the thematic focus of our group. We work closely with students to ensure that each project is scientifically rigorous, well-supported, and contributes meaningfully to both their academic development and our research objectives.

For more information, please visit the GSLS pages for more general information about major research projects, general research profiles, writing assignments, or mini-projects, and our MSc project page for information about MSc projects at the WEN group.
