UYA and Climate Change
How to understand and mitigate the climate and ecological crisis is a defining issue of our generation. We consider it our mission to engage with academia, policy makers, and society, beyond our formal duties of teaching and research.
We find it evident that the public support for science comes with the mutual agreement that in times of uncertainties and societal challenges, the scientific community dedicates all in its power to finding solutions and identifying risks.
To face this challenge, we have developed a number of activities and initiatives. Some are geared towards encouraging evidence-based policies, both within the university and within society at large, while others are aimed at direct engagement with society about the societal and ecological consequences of climate change and the loss of biodiversity. In doing this, we seek collaboration with partners, both within and outside of academia.
