Profile Picture Megan Milota

Dr. Megan Milota is associate professor in medical humanities at the UMC Utrecht. While writing her dissertation on reader reception of religious fiction at the University of Antwerp, Megan also studied narrative medicine at Columbia University. Since 2017, she has been integrating narrative medicine into the medical and paramedical training programs in Utrecht. She is also an ambassador for the New Utrecht School, a platform that facilitates interdisciplinary dialogue, collaboration, and creative exploration between the (bio)medical sciences and humanities. In addition, she conducts empirical research on a variety of topics and likes to challenge herself to learn and explore new methods and techniques. Examples include creating an ethnographic film about AI’s role in the daily work of pathologists and helping design and launch an online storybank for children and young adults living with a (chronic) condition.
