Dr. Marjolijn Bol
Marjolijn Bol is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of History and Art History. Her research interests focus on the interdependence of the history of art with the history of materials, techniques and knowledge. In 2014 she received an NWO Veni-grant to investigate the art history of imitation materials. In 2019 she was awarded an ERC-starting grant for her project Dynamics of the Durable, which will investigate the history of durability in art.
Why did artists and their patrons desire objects they hoped could survive for centuries?
Marjolijn Bol is a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers. Marjolijn joined the Utrecht Young Academy in 2019.
