Jarno Hoekman is an Assistant Professor in Innovation studies at the Copernicus Institute for Sustainable Development and affiliated with the Utrecht-WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation. His research focuses on the regulation and governance of science and innovation in the life sciences domain. He is particularly interested in the capacity of the regulatory sciences to learn about the risks and benefits of new technologies when introduced into society. Jarno received a Veni grant in 2015 and he is the programme leader of the research master in Innovation Sciences and teaches academic integrity courses.

Jarno Hoekman has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2020.
