Dr. Helen King
Originally a chemist from the UK, Helen King moved to Germany to obtain a PhD in Mineralogy before conducting a post-doc in the U.S. She is now the Assistant Professor of Mineralogy in the Department of Earth Sciences. Her research focuses on the low temperature formation and dissolution of inorganic crystals including those made by biological processes, e.g., in bone and microbial communities.
How do the local environmental conditions affect crystal growth and dissolution?
Helen King has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2018.
