Dr. Danny Broere

Danny Broere is an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry department. After obtaining his PhD at the University of Amsterdam he spent two years as a Rubicon postdoctoral fellow at Yale University. Danny finds inspiration in the molecular machinery that nature uses to convert abundant resources, such as CO2 and nitrogen, into chemical building blocks. His research focuses on understanding how multiple metal atoms can work together to make and break strong chemical bonds, and use this to develop new chemical tools of relevance to the energy transition.
Can we mimic nature without all the spaghetti?
Danny Broere has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2022.
