Dr. Dan Hassler-Forest
Dan Hassler-Forest works as an Assistant Professor in the department of Media and Culture Studies, where he has taught courses on media industries, transmedia storytelling, critical theory and cultural analysis. He has published scholarly books and articles on science fiction, fandom and cultural studies, media theory, anti-capitalism and popular culture, and zombies, and also writes frequently for more popular platforms like The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Review of Books.
Popular culture is one of the primary domains where we consume, resist, and define our political identities.
Dan Hassler-Forest has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2019.
