Dr. Angelos Krypotos

Angelos Krypotos is Assistant Professor at the Clinical Psychology department. He received his bachelor in psychology at the University of Crete (Greece). He completed his research master's degree at the University of Amsterdam in 2010, and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the same university in 2015.

Angelos studies ways to predict and treat maladaptive behaviors in chronic pain and mental disorders. In parallel, he is interested in open science practices among clinical psychologists, as well as modern analytical techniques for analysing behavioural data. He has received funding from NWO (replication grant; 2018) and FWO (senior post-doc grant; 2019).

How can we predict and treat maladaptive behaviours?

As a member of the UYA my goal is to promote further the adoption of open science practices across faculties. For that, I plan to work with the University's Ethics Committees. Additionally, I plan to develop independent software to allow the easy adoption of open science practices across the university.

Angelos Krypotos has been a member of the Utrecht Young Academy, a bridge between young and talented researchers, since 2023.
