The UPAC research group consists of philosophers of physics as well as physicists, focusing on modern astronomy, astrophysics & cosmology.
Our ERC project "COSMO-MASTER" explores the breakdown of the distinction between space(time) and matter in modern astronomy & cosmology, and the ramifications of that foundering for both physics and philosophy.
UPAC's involvement with the Next Generation Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration (ngEHT) centers around its governance structure & social epistemology (= group dynamics of knowledge formation).
UPAC falls under History & Philosophy of Physics < History and Philosophy of Science Group < Freudenthal Institute < Mathematics Department < Science Faculty, and is associated with the Descartes Centre.
