RENFORCE Student Assistant Call for Applications

The Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement (RENFORCE) is hiring two student assistants, to assist with various organisational and administrative tasks within RENFORCE.

The Utrecht Centre for Regulation and Enforcement is a research institute that focuses on the relationship between regulation and enforcement at the interplay of national, European and other levels of government as well as private spheres of regulatory enforcement. It seeks to combine legal research with research from other disciplines, such as economics and political science, that helps to provide a better understanding of these phenomena.

The position is part time (0,2 FTE, i.e. 7,6 hours per week) for a period of one year from September 1st 2024, with a possibility of extension, depending on performance, eligibility, and available funds. The salary for a Master student is € 569,20 gross per month.

As a student assistant, your main responsibilities will include communications and coordination tasks, taking of minutes, compiling and writing the newsletter, organising conferences/academic events, and other small tasks as necessary. The position is ideal for someone diligent, communicative, and interested in the behind-the-scenes workings of a collaborative research centre. We are looking for advanced bachelor students or master students. The successful applicants will be working together as a team. The ideal student assistant should be reliable, responsive, and well-organised, and should have good writing skills and a good eye for detail.


  • You study at Utrecht University or you will start to do so in the new academic year;
  • After the summer, you will be an advanced Bachelor student (in your third year) or a Masters student at the Law School or in your third year at UCU;
  • A keen interest in legal education;
  • A professional attitude and behaviour characterised by integrity, precision, good communication skills (including ability to work with social media), collegiality, and a pro-active mindset.
