Education UCALL
Overview of courses on aspects of accountability and liability that are being taught by researchers of the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (UCALL).
The Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law of Utrecht University and the Erasmus University Rotterdam start a new training program ‘Bijstand aan EGZ-slachtoffers’ (Representation of victims of sexual offences and violent crimes). The training program, which has been established on the initiative of Stichting LANGZS and the Ministery of Security and Justice, is supported by the Secretary of Security and Justice.
The training program is intended for lawyers, working in the field of private law and criminal law, that represent victims of sexual offences and violent crimes. However, considering the substance and structure of the training program, it is also relevant for lawyers who represent victims of other types of crimes.
The program focuses on three central themes:
- Remedies within Civil Law
- Possibilities within Criminal Law to pursue the rights of the victims
- New insights from the field of victimology: psychological aspects of victimization
The (second edition of the) training program ‘Bijstand aan EGZ-slachtoffers‘ will start in January 2016 in Utrecht. Click here for more information regarding the curriculum (Dutch only).
