To move forward these important aspects of urban transformation, UU research aims to unpack the relationship between urban and social transformations and address questions of power relationships and political equality that underlie existing vulnerability, exclusion and marginalization of urban dwellers. This research is also connected to the Open City Initiative which is dedicated to creating more open and equal cities worldwide.
