Research
The New Utrecht School supports research in which the stories and experiences of patients explicitly come to the fore.
What is it like to be a patient?
The research tutorial What Is It Like to Be a Patient?—in which students took part in a simulated care trajectory —was foundational to the birth of the New Utrecht School in 2017.
Child Health – A Serious Challenge
Following this tutorial, employees of UMC Utrecht followed the simulated life rules of a chronically ill adolescent for a period of two weeks as part of the larger-scale project: Child Health – A Serious Challenge.
The Language of illness
In The language of illness researchers of the New Utrecht School engage with what literature can tell us about the experience of illness or disability.
