Tell Yourself
On 10 November 2021 a group of artists, scientists, and healthcare professionals spoke about the role of language and stories in the development of children. This was the fifth public dialogue in the context of the 385th anniversary of Utrecht University and the University Medical Center Utrecht.
Importance of personal and social development
There is an increasing amount of research on the importance of early development in children. It is important to move away from the distinction between body and mind and to adopt a more holistic approach to the health of children and (young) adults.
Through language we learn to give words to our emotions, in order to gain more self-confidence and autonomy. Our speakers talked about their own research, experiences and insights about (youth) development and enter into a dialogue with each other and the public.
