Every wise owl was once a fledgling

On January 11, 2024, we organized a lunch lecture in collaboration with the Journal of Trial and Error on how to address burnout. This was the third lunch lecture in the series Scientific failure and uncertainty in the health domain.

How to address burnout

During this lunch lecture, the focus was on the importance of creating space to be authentically oneself, reframing burnout not as a failure but as a symptom of a deeper issue that requires shared responsibility. Insights from research on burnout among SUMMA students were shared and subsequently translated into daily practice. The lecture delved into factors that were either helpful or obstructive. Additionally, discussions covered how individuals could actively contribute to a healthy and learning work and study environment, emphasizing positive changes.
