Attention for so called “Blue Zones” is growing. “Blue Zones are seven parts of the world in which people grow remarkably old while having a great quality of life. What causes these long and happy lives? We have recovered the secret to prolonged and fortunate life at the public dialogue: Blue Zones: How to all live long happy ever afters? 

For the UU Sharing Days; Van Hier Naar […] organised a public dialogue about Blue Zones.  Together with our speakers we delved into what makes a long and happy life. We shared our insights about how the guiding principles for happiness and longevity can be applied. One of the most striking contributing factors appears to be social cohesion. How can we improve overall health and vitality both in local and international settings? How can we organise our societies in ways that promote mutual and meaningful connections? What, in short, makes a good and/or happy life?
