Atlantos Student Ambassadors
Are you a bachelor's or master's student at Utrecht University with a heart for the ocean? Do you want to help strengthen the ocean student community at the UU? Then becoming an Ocean Ambassador might be just the thing for you!
As an Ocean Ambassador, you are the bridge between the new generation of ocean-passionate students and a network of ocean professionals within the Sustainable Ocean Community (SOC) and Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP). You'll get an inside look at all the marine research happening at the UU and share exciting ocean-related opportunities (internships, symposia, and workshops) with your fellow students. Moreover, the experts from ECOP will help you strengthen your skills on i.e. presenting, media and change management. On top of that, you'll have the opportunity to give input on how the perspectives and needs of your generation can be better integrated into education, research, and governance activities.
You can bring your own creativity and ideas to the table. We highly value bottom-up initiatives, so if there's something you want to create or organize, we're happy to support you.
The activities of an ocean ambassor may include:
- Organizing a webinar series or book club
- Contributing to an incubator project
- Joining an advisory board
- Help out with activities around world ocean day (science conference or outreach activities at musea)
- And much more
