Seed funding: open call 2025
With Pathways to Sustainability seed funding, we aim to stimulate interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary interactions that can 'plant a seed' and contribute to creating impact. Seed funding is geared towards accommodating small teams of scholars who collaborate on projects with a defined scope.
We invite initiatives that in some way contribute to the Pathways to Sustainability mission and vision. We welcome the submission of various types of activities, be it related to research, education, stakeholder, policy or public engagement, or to building connections and networks. Projects up until 10.000 euro are funded for a maximum period of 12 months. The conditions are further explained below and examples of ongoing and past projects can be found in our Project Gallery.
Conditions
- Active involvement by scholars from at least two Utrecht University faculties is required and involvement of non-academic partners is encouraged.
- Funded projects and initiatives should, in some way, contribute to realizing one or several of the aims of the Pathways to Sustainability programme: Be the driver of change fostering sustainable thinking and practice; Fulfilling the critical role that belongs to universities; Finding new ways to connect our proven excellence in research and education to processes of societal learning.
- Applications should contribute to accelerating change through initiatives that are not yet happening elsewhere in UU and/or are not easily funded via other channels.
- The Pathways to Sustainability open call funds initiatives up to 10.000 euro.
