COVID-19 Research

The corona pandemic has challenged behavioural scientists with important questions about when and how people are able and willing to change their behaviour to stop spreading the virus. Our lab is involved in multiple corona projects, including the role of empathy cues in promoting physical distancing to protect others, how people create mental models of their personal understanding of factors that contribute to the spreading of the virus, and how public support for behaviour corona public policy comes about. Floor Kroese is involved in the Corona Behavioral Unit at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment. Denise de Ridder is member of the scientific advisory board of this unit.
