Quickstart to Research Data Management

Are you new to the topic of research data management (RDM)? Or do you want to refresh your memory on the topic? The Quickstart to Research Data Management workshop provides you with an insight into all aspects of RDM that you need to take care of your research data.

This two-hour workshop will introduce you to several concepts and practices in RDM, including: 

  • Data collection
  • Data storage
  • Data security
  • Data documentation
  • Data selection and preservation
  • FAIR data
  • Data sharing and reuse 

After the workshop, you can apply this knowledge to gathering, handling, preserving and sharing your research data and use best practices. This workshop is suitable for all career stages, or if you want to learn how to fill in a Data Management Plan (DMP). 

Prerequisites 

  • No prerequisite knowledge is required to participate in this workshop. 
  • This workshop is aimed at researchers working at Utrecht University. Do you work at UMC Utrecht? There is a similar workshop tailored to UMCU researchers, you can contact researchtooling@umcutrecht.nl for more information.
