Thesis projects and internships

Are you a motivated student looking to write your thesis on the topic of relationships? Members of the Relationships Lab regularly supervise bachelor and (research) master students writing their theses. In case one of the topics we conduct research on has caught your interested, we encourage you to contact the respective researcher to inquire about the possibilities of writing your thesis!

Courses

The following courses are taught by members of the Relationships Lab. More information on the courses can be found on the linked Osiris course catalog pages.

  • Interpersonal Processes is an advanced bachelor’s course coordinated by Esther Kluwer, Leslie van der Leer and Reine van der Wal and concerns the most important theories and empirical research on interpersonal processes.
     
  • Psychology of Human Motivation is an advanced bachelor’s course offered by the UCU, taught by Leslie van der Leer. In the course, different motivational systems and their interactions are explored.
     
  • Communication and Leadership is a master’s course that can be taken as an elective by students enrolled in a degree programme of the Faculty of Social Sciences. The course is taught by Tom Frijns and covers theoretical and empirical insights into effective (interpersonal and group) communication and influence from a social psychological perspective.
     
  • Samenleven en de sociale mens is a bachelor’s course on theoretical perspectives of social functioning. Through a multidisciplinary approach students learn to combine (sub)disciplinary research and learn how this theoretical knowledge can be applied in analysis of contemporary problems.
     
  • Social Cognition is an advanced bachelor’s course taught by Tom Frijns where students acquire knowledge about important theories and empirical research in the field of social cognitive psychology.
     
  • Making Diversity Work: Building Inclusive organisations is an advanced bachelor’s course taught by Melissa Vink where students learn about the benefits and challenges of building diverse and inclusive organisations. Students will study theory about effectively implementing diversity and inclusion policies in organisations and will develop a theoretically sound and evidence-based approach to change these.
