Plants are essential for our life. They represent a crucial source of food for both humans and animals.
Global warming threatens plant survival increasing temperature, soil salinity, and flooding. My group is involved in understanding how plant cell walls contribute to the activation of the signaling responses induced by climate change-related threats. We focus on the identification of plant cell wall modifications to identify and understand how their perception is initiated to ultimately develop stress-tolerant plants, allowing us to increase food production and survive a changing climate.
