National cooperation

Utrecht Law Review

The Montaigne Centre for Judicial Administration and Conflict Resolution works closely with the The Utrecht Law Review (ULR). This is an open-access peer-reviewed journal which aims to offer an international academic platform for cross-border legal research. The journal was established in 2005 and is affiliated to the Utrecht University School of Law.

International Journal for Court Administration

The Montaigne Centre for Judicial Administration and Conflict Resolution works closely together with the International Association for Court Administration and the International Journal for Court Administration with Philip Langbroek as co-founder and Managing Editor. The International Journal for Court Administration is a worldwide Open Access platform for exchange of knowledge based on academic research and on experience in practice. The journal welcomes contributions related to Justice and Court Administration. Prospective authors can register and submit articles via the website.

SURRF

SURRF is the partnership between the court of the mid-Netherlands and Utrecht University’s School of Law and is composed of judges, lecturers and researchers who are interested in the judicial administration. For that reason, SURFF is closely connected to the Montaigne Centre. 

SSR

The Montaigne Centre works together with the training and study centre for the judiciary (SSR).  SSR is the joint training institute of the Dutch judicial system and the Public Prosecution Service, operating independently from the Ministry of Justice. 

International cooperation

L’institute des Hautes études sur la Justice

Also outside the Netherlands, the Montaigne Centre cooperates with interesting partners. We cooperate closely with the Institute des Hautes études sur la Justice (IHEJ) in Paris.

Instituto di Ricerca sui Sistemi Giudiziari Consiglio Nazionale delle Richerche

The Montaigne Centre is part of a network together with the Research Institute on Judicial Systems (Instituto di Ricerca sui Sistemi Giudiziari Consiglio Nazionale delle Richerche (IRSiG-CNR) in Bologna.

Cooperation within Utrecht University

Institutions for Open Societies

Within the university-wide strategic theme Institutions for Open Societies, researchers of the Montaigne Centre cooperate with several researchers from other disciplines and aim at answering the question how an open and sustainable society should be realized.

Research programmes School of Law

The Montaigne Centre closely cooperates with other research programmes of Utrecht University’s School of Law, such as the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights (SIM), the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law (UCALL) and the Utrecht Centre for Shared Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (RENFORCE).
