Migration and Societal Change Conference 2025
The topic of migration continues to be a central issue in political, social, and academic discussions. As wars, conflicts, and climate change continue to displace people, pressing debates on integration, migration becoming a divisive topic in the sociopolitical realm, discrimination, racism, changing migration laws have underscored the need for a deeper exploration of this multifaceted topic and its historical roots.
In response, the Migration and Societal Change focus area is excited to announce our second Migration and Societal Change Conference, taking place on June 19-20, 2025, in Utrecht. This interdisciplinary event will showcase the latest scientific research and policy innovations on migration, contributing to public discourse and encouraging fresh perspectives.
By bringing together diverse voices and addressing the most urgent questions surrounding migration, we aim to illuminate this vital issue and promote a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities it presents.
Participation in the conference is completely free of charge. The registration will open in January 2025. While we can provide information on accommodation options in the area, visitors are responsible for organizing their own travel and accommodations privately.
If you have any questions about the conference, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via email at migration@uu.nl. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the Migration and Societal Change conference in Utrecht.
