About Us

Come. Try. Learn prototyping. Build Ideas. Join the community of makers.

Lili’s Proto Lab (LPL) is a place for you to test your creative ideas and materialize them into a working prototype. From 3D printing and laser cutting to microfluidics and robotics, in the LPL you get to practice with various low-threshold, accessible prototyping methods and refine your ideas. Whatever your skill level, LPL mentors help your team in managing your prototyping process and brings you in touch with experts from across all disciplines in the Science faculty. In addition to this, we also host specific workshops to help give you a crash course in specific prototyping skills.

Our typical users are students, researchers and educators and PhD candidates who have an interest in creating physical, often custom, hardware. Such projects can include educational models, open source version of lab equipment or sustainable nudging devices. Projects size varies, with visitors coming just to use a soldering iron or utilizing the lab to complete major components of their research internship or thesis. Ultimately, our ambition is to build a community of creative and enthusiastic people who like to learn by doing and those who support them. So whether you are reinventing the wheel or need an extra thumb to hold down tape, feel free to come along to the LPL.

If you are interested in starting a project and want to start the prototyping process, sign-up today and let us know what you want to try!
