Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative Medicine Utrecht (RMU) is a world-renowned collaboration of excellent knowledge institutes and start-ups, located at the Utrecht Science Park. We aim to tap into the body’s own capacities to repair and restore tissue and bring novel therapeutic benefit for both human and animal patients.
We combine full bench to bedside capability with a variety of state-of-the-art technologies. Thereby, we have the capacity in Utrecht to bring an idea from concept to standard patient care.
Why our work matters
RMU aims to address unmet medical need by focusing on restoring health and vitality instead of symptom control. By repairing, replacing, or regenerating cells, tissues, and organs we aim to cure patients.
Contact us or visit our RMU Center website if you want to know more.
Our goal is to develop new regenerative treatments that will lessen the burden of disease.

Research
We have the capacity to combine scientific findings with advanced technologies to create novel therapeutic benefit for both human and animal patients in three areas:
Facilities
To facilitate interdisciplinary innovation, the majority of our researchers work together at the Regenerative Medicine Center Utrecht (RMCU), located at the vibrant Utrecht Science Park. Our research is supported by a variety of technologies, for example:
• Innovation Center for Advanced Therapies (ICAT)
• Biofabrication Facility Utrecht
• Platforms for organoids technologies (U-PORT, Ombion)
• AI lab for living technologies.
