Thematic Communities

Our research is interdisciplinary by nature and combines fundamental, clinical, translational and applied research.

Six thematic Life Sciences communities serve as the base in which scientists meet and support each other. Where they exchange knowledge and align new initiatives and are responsible for driving and deepening the interdisciplinary exchange on key societal challenges related to Life Sciences. Scholars from different disciplines collaborate across faculty boundaries and with societal partners.

In its lightest form, a community can stimulate discussions through symposia, share papers, organize community building events and connect to the PhD and MSc students. In a more structural form, these communities can establish several larger knowledge clusters that organize a range of activities, build state-of-the-art facilities and form more structural strategic networks, including societal partners. The communities serve to make the expertise more visible and accessible to our internal and external audiences.
