About us

Welcome to the Utrecht Life Science Community for Planetary Health—a vibrant and interdisciplinary initiative dedicated to addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the intertwined health of humans, animals, and ecosystems.

We recognize the urgent need for attention and action to counter the extensive damage human activity has inflicted on our planet’s ecosystems. These disruptions not only threaten the delicate balance of life on Earth but also exacerbate systemic injustices, disproportionately impacting vulnerable populations. Our vision is a world that operates within Planetary Health boundaries, ensuring health and well-being for all.

As part of Utrecht University, our community brings together researchers, lecturers, students, and staff who share a commitment to advancing knowledge, education, and societal engagement in Planetary Health. Together, we aim to shape the future by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, promoting creative strategies for societal transformation, and driving meaningful change.
