Hubrecht Young Faculty Association
The Hubrecht Young Faculty Association (Hubrecht-YFA) was founded in 2019. The main aim of the Hubrecht-YFA is to establish a network of peers and to promote collaborations within the institute and with other researchers in Utrecht. We organise events within our own association and also together with the Young Faculty of the Life Sciences, which consists of young group leaders from UU, UMC and Princess Máxima Center)
Who we are
We are a group of junior group leaders and more senior group leaders (who still feel young enough to join the YFA) working at the Hubrecht Institute.
What we do
Young Faculty Lunch
Once per month we meet for lunch to have peer discussions and talk about potential scientific collaborations. Every life science young group leader is welcome to join. If you want to join, please contact k.sonnen@hubrecht.eu.
ULS-YFA Borrels
Every 3 months one partner of the ULS-YFA (i.e. UU, UMCU, Princess Máxima Center and Hubrecht Institute) organizes a borrel to foster scientific interactions and promote collaboration. The first ULS-YFA borrel took place at the Hubrecht Institute in 2019.
ULS-YFA Symposium
Once per year we, that is the ULS-YFA, intend to organize a scientific symposium, which provides a platform for in-depth scientific discussion. The program will consist of scientific presentations by members of the ULS-YFA as well as distinguished external speakers. The first ULS-YFA Symposium will presumably take place in autumn 2020.
